Electrical Incidents and the Standard of Care

Electrical incidents, whether involving shock, equipment malfunction, or system failure, rarely stem from a single cause. This session combines electrical forensic engineering and health & safety expertise to show how technical issues and organizational practices interact to create risk. Using case studies, we will review how installation deficiencies, equipment defects, design issues, and poor maintenance contribute to hazardous conditions, and how training, procedures, and supervision measure up to the standard of care. Together, these perspectives highlight how engineering analysis and safety expectations help prevent injuries, improve systems, and support due diligence.
